Machine element, also known as machine part, is the basic component of a machine, and is an indivisible part of a machine.
Mechanical parts are not only a subject of researching and designing mechanical basic parts in various equipment, but also a general term for parts and components.
Since the emergence of machinery, there are corresponding mechanical parts. But as a discipline, mechanical parts are separated from mechanical tectonics and mechanics. With the development of mechanical industry, new design theories and methods, new materials and new technology appear, mechanical parts have entered a new stage of development. Finite element method, fracture mechanics, elastohydrodynamic lubrication, optimization design, reliability design, computer aided design (CAD), solid modeling (Pro, Ug, Solidworks, etc.), system analysis and design methodology have been gradually used in the research and design of mechanical parts.
It is an important trend for the development of this subject to better integrate various disciplines, to combine macro with micro, to explore new principles and structures, to adopt more dynamic and accurate designs, to make more effective use of computers, and to further develop design theories and methods.
